seniors |
As a freshman, students are not recommended to take the PSAT/SAT/ACT. Instead they are encouraged to take rigorous courses and begin working on their high school plans to meet their goals by graduation.
|
As a sophomore, students are recommended to continue taking rigorous courses. On top of that, they are encouraged to take the PSAT in order to prepare them for the ACT and SAT as juniors.
|
As a junior, students who take the PSAT and perform well have the chance to become a National Merit Scholar, opening the doors to highly sought after education programs and many scholarships. The PSAT is offered in the Fall semester. In the Spring semester, juniors are encouraged to take the SAT/ACT in the April-June months.

Seniors will need to take the SAT and/or ACT at the beginning of the school year. Many priority deadlines for college entrance are roughly the first of November. Universities will not fully consider a student's application without the scores from at least one of these tests. It takes about a month to get scores back, so the sooner the better. Students who take the test as juniors have statistically shown to perform better as seniors.
